Showing Up, Even in the Snow
For the past six days, our campus has been closed as a winter storm settled in and kept many of us homebound. Like so many of you, we’ve missed the simple gift of seeing one another—passing in the hallways, gathering for worship, and sharing life together.
This week, a group of staff and volunteers, organized by our Trustees Committee, bundled up and came to campus with snow shovels in hand. Together, they cleared sidewalks and access points across our grounds, making the campus walkable and preparing it to be as safe as possible whenever we’re able to return.
Their work was a great reminder of who we are as a community. Even when we can’t gather, even when weather keeps us apart, people still show up for one another. Care takes many forms—sometimes it looks like prayer, sometimes like patience, and sometimes like clearing a path so others can walk safely.
We’re deeply grateful for the time, energy, and love shared by those who braved the cold to care for our shared space. After a long stretch of being apart, it was a joy to see familiar faces—even bundled behind snow shovels—and to be reminded that we’re never really alone.
