Growing Hope: AGF Raises $14,000 for Shiloh Garden
Shiloh Garden, the largest community garden in the United States, continues to be a shining example of what can happen when people come together to support their neighbors. Entirely volunteer-run, Shiloh depends on the hands and hearts of community members who prepare beds, plant, transplant, harvest, and care for the space year-round. All produce, fruit, and eggs grown at the garden are donated to local agencies working to combat food insecurity—ensuring that fresh, nutritious food reaches those in our community who need it most.
This year, the Friends of Shiloh Garden received a remarkable gift from our congregation and community. At the Alternative Gifts Fair, the CCA (Congregational and Community Artisans) booth raised an incredible $14,000 to support Shiloh’s ongoing work. On Saturday, December 6, 2025, representatives from FUMC Denton and members of the Shiloh Garden board gathered for a joyful check presentation, complete with a “giant check” and even bigger smiles.
This donation will help Shiloh continue providing fresh, ethically grown produce for hungry families, sustaining a hands-on, family-friendly volunteer experience that strengthens Denton County. We are grateful for every volunteer, artisan, and shopper who helped make this gift possible. Thank you for shining God’s love into every life!
