Delores Hettler Retiring and Welcoming Pat Peters as new Librarian

This message sent on behalf of Carol Rogers, Chair of Staff Parish Relations Committee

SPRC asks that you join us in congratulating Delores Hettler on her retirement as Church Librarian. Delores joined FUMC Denton's staff in February of 2008 as librarian after having volunteered in the library for several years. She has many “regulars” and has come to know the types of books they enjoy reading. Delores has taken great joy in having Gloria Thomas come to read to the CDO children. She has also enjoyed working with the other staff members and says she will miss them but is looking forward to being retired “for the third time.” Delores was instrumental in bringing Patricia Peters to the attention of SPRC and we are most grateful for her recommendation. Delores, thank you for your service to FUMC Denton and all its members!

SPRC is very pleased to announce that Pat (Patricia) Peters will assume the role of Church Librarian on January 4, 2021. For those of you who may not know Pat, she has been a librarian for 21 years. She is currently the director of the Decatur Public Library and will be retiring from there at the end of the year. She holds a Master of Arts degree in English Literature and a Master of Library Science degree both from the University of North Texas, in addition to a Bachelor of Music degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. Pat is experienced in children’s and adult education, having been a children’s librarian and adjunct professor at Texas Woman’s University. Pat and her husband Jeff have been members of FUMC Denton since 1981, where they have participated in various musical groups and served in many capacities in church leadership and service. Please join SPRC as we welcome Pat to the FUMC staff. Pat’s email address will be ppeters@fumc-denton.com.
