Dale Tampke is planning a trip to the border over the MLK weekend and hoping to recruit a few hardy souls from FUMC Denton to participate. There are about a thousand migrants in the camp in Reynosa (across from McAllen). You can help provide meals and distribute personal hygiene items in the camp, supporting Mayra Garza and her Mateo 25:35 organization. We would depart Thursday, January 13 and return Monday, January 17. Cost per person is approximately $300 for lodging and transportation and could be lower depending on the number of participants. Stonebridge UMC is collecting hygiene items and will support the trip with the January communion offering. If you are interested in participating, contact Dale Tampke at dale@mysumc.org.
