Heart of the City: Plant Gardens & Build Houses

What does it mean to love Denton as God loves? What does it means to be the hands and feet, putting love into action, caring for the city like God cares for the city? What does it mean to Love Denton and the surrounding communities and all the people who call them home? In our current worship series, Heart of the City, we are asking that very question. We are called to invest in the city for generational transformation as seed planters and home builders. Throughout its history, FUMC Denton has planted a multitude of seeds, and many have grown into flourishing ministries. And FUMC Denton has built and refurbished many homes, transforming individual and family trajectories for generations. What does our time and our context call us to today — what does Love call us to in our time? The same things: to dig in, plant seeds, and build places of home and belonging. Let’s dream together for what that might look like in our time and in our community as we answer the call to be the Heart of the City.
