This year’s Trunk or Treat celebration wasn’t just about candy and costumes—it was also an opportunity to “Share the Harvest” with our neighbors. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our FUMC Denton community, we collected an abundance of canned goods that will directly support families at Rivera Elementary School.

Earlier this week, Pastor Sheryl delivered all the donated food, along with 40 turkeys provided by our Missions Team, just in time for families to prepare for Thanksgiving. Rivera Elementary expressed their heartfelt appreciation on social media, sharing how much this partnership means to their school community.

“Thank you First United Methodist Church Denton for dropping off turkeys and canned goods this morning! Your generosity and partnership allows us to support our Rivera community.”Rivera Elementary

We are grateful to every person who contributed food, volunteered at Trunk or Treat, or helped spread the word. Your kindness helps ensure that families in our neighborhood feel supported, cared for, and surrounded by love during this season.

Thank you for continuing to shine God’s love into every life—one can, one turkey, and one act of compassion at a time.
