Workforce Housing Initiative Update
Church Family,
As we continue our sermon series, Over the Rainbow, we reflect on the way God invites us to be co-creators of good things here on earth as it is in heaven. One of the ways our church is endeavoring to be co-creators of something good in our community is through our exciting Workforce Housing Initiative. Together, we are helping build housing for families and individuals in our community, transforming stories, promoting opportunity, and creating good.
In March our church, with overwhelming support, voted to pursue the initiative. In the weeks since, we’ve been working with our Board of Trustees, community members, civic leaders, development and funding partners, and more to continue working toward a successful project that our church can be proud to open to our neighbors. Every conversation is advancing the project, increasing excitement, and iterating toward excellence. We are thrilled with how our church’s God-sized dream is proceeding!
Over the rest of the year, that work will continue, and we will keep you updated on the latest as plans take shape and drawings move from pencil to pen. Recently, we decided to defer our potential beginning date until a little later in the process in order to continue working through a few last development steps. If all proceeds as planned, anticipate official notice of grant funding in early 2024 with construction beginning in late 2024. We are excited to get started!
As our lay leadership teams, staff, and development partners continue their work, we will keep you updated. Be in prayer for this incredible project that will create so much good in our community and our church as we shine God’s love bright here in the heart of Denton.
Thank you for your continued support and participation in the ministry of the church. Your prayers, presence, service, gifts, and witness help this church community be a place co-creating good things in the love of God, right here under the rainbow. Thank you to this church congregation that multiples that work through its love!
In Christ,
Paster Jonathan
