Finding the Light at Blue Christmas
The Blue Christmas Service was a deeply moving and reflective evening, held in the peaceful Cole Chapel. The service created a sacred space for those experiencing grief, loss, or hardship during the holiday season, offering comfort and hope through the light of God’s love.
Pastor Sheryl shared a heartfelt message reminding us that even in our darkest moments, the light and hope of Jesus remain steadfast. As part of the service, attendees were invited to come forward and light candles to honor their grief, the memory of loved ones, or the burdens they carry this season. This ritual of lighting candles brought a sense of unity and peace as we collectively acknowledged our pain while looking toward the promise of hope.
A special moment came when Pastor Sheryl gifted each attendee a mini crystal—a thoughtful symbol of hope. These crystals, designed to create rainbow prisms when they catch the light, serve as a gentle reminder of God’s ever-present love and the beauty that can emerge even in challenging times.
This service was a powerful reminder of the importance of creating space for healing during the holiday season. Thank you to all who attended and shared in this time of reflection, and to Pastor Sheryl for her guidance and care.
