Congratulations and Thank You to Alan Heath!

On behalf of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC):

Friends, many of you have already heard that our Business Administrator extraordinaire, Alan Heath, is leaving us after eight years of service. Alan was not looking for a new position, but an opportunity presented itself and an offer was made to him to become the Executive Director of Women in Need (WIN) in his hometown of Greenville. This new position gives Alan an opportunity to continue living into his servant’s heart, and his daily commute will be shortened by three hours.

WIN is an organization that is focused on ending domestic violence. "WIN provides Refuge, Empowerment and Restoration to families affected by domestic violence in Hunt and Rockwall County. Believing that homes should be peaceful, WIN strives to educate families broken apart by violence to live by nonviolent means. By providing shelter to victims of Family Violence, working towards increased knowledge of the problem, and stressing viable solutions, the purpose of WIN is to eliminate family violence locally and to be a part of a widespread movement to create a society that no longer tolerates the abuse of power through violence or any other means.” Learn more about WIN here: https://www.wintexas.org/about/mission-statement/

Alan shared with us how difficult his decision was to leave FUMC Denton. He went on to say that serving as our Business Administrator "has been the most rewarding service of my life and one that I will cherish forever. I have had the wonderful opportunity of working with a team of professionals that have gone from becoming not just co-workers but close friends. It will be like leaving my family to move on.”

Alan, my friend, your FUMC Denton family feels the same about you. You are family and will be sorely missed. There is no question that the gifts and blessings you brought to us will be shared with those at WIN. You embody a servant’s heart.

Alan’s last day with us is September 1. If you'd like to offer notes of congratulations and encouragement to Alan on his next adventure, please reach out to him at aheath@fumc-denton.com.

Respectfully,
Carol Rogers, SPRC Chair
