Lenten Rebuild Information Meeting
Sunday, March 3 at 12:15pm in Sanctuary
Silva lives in Argyle and faithfully attends our Jesus Fuente de Vida service. She needs our help repairing her home, both the exterior fascia boards and soffits, and repairing her home’s interior with new paint, cabinets, and sink. Her home is the focus of our 2024 Lent Rebuild project supported by donations through our Goodies by Jody fundraiser during our Annual Alternative Gifts Fair. While Lent is often seen as a time to fast, another spiritual practice is to take on something that deepens our spiritual life together. By contributing just a few Saturdays during Lent, we can prioritize both love of God and love of neighbor, by participating in this rebuild effort. Project leader is Harry Lothridge, hmlothridge@gmail.com.

You can help remove and return furniture and personal items to a temporary storage POD as a mover or remove and replace the flooring and water-damaged subflooring and a wall as a semi-carpenter. Thank you for shining God’s love into the lives of our neighbors! Learn more at fumcdenton.com/lentenrebuild.

Community Home Repair Project
Our church members are doing a house/fence repair project for a family who is a member of the 9:00 am Mosaic service. These repairs have been on hold since March 2020 due to the pandemic. The trim around the windows and door has now been replaced and the backyard fence is over half done. So, this Saturday we will haul off trash, finish installing the fence pickets, do some caulking, and paint.
When: Saturday, October 30, at 9 am until 3 or 4 pm or however much time you have to work.
Where: The home is on Chambers Street just off Dallas Drive in Denton. Email Tommy for address.
What: Haul off old fence, siding, and trash, finish the fence, caulk and paint.
Tools/Stuff/Needs: Eye and ear protection, gloves. Lunch and a lawn chair. And we need a couple of extension ladders to reach the 16' roof peak.
We will have water, fruit, and snacks but no lunches are provided on this project so bring your own. If you wish to participate in this worthwhile and long overdue home repair project, please email tmnations@verizon.net.

Community Home Repair Project
Church Family,
Our church members are doing a house/fence repair project for a single mother and who is a member of the 9:00 am Mosaic service. These repairs have been on hold since March 2020 due to the pandemic. We will be replacing siding, the front porch post, and completing other exterior repairs as needed. We will also caulk and prep the exterior then paint. If enough folks come to work, we'll also tear out and replace the backyard wood fence and side gates.
The home is on Chambers Street just off Dallas Drive in Denton. As with our previous projects, all/some/no skills are needed. Also, you can contribute money to the project through the church. Mark your donation “Lent Rebuild” via check or at fumcdenton.com/give.
We will work Saturdays beginning October 16 and hopefully complete the project by or before Saturday November 20. If you wish to participate in this worthwhile and long overdue home repair project, please email tmnations@verizon.net.
Peace,
Tom Nations
