Join Glow and FUMC Denton’s Church & Society Committee for a LGBTQIA+ Inclusion 101 lecture series using Leigh Finke’s Welcoming and Affirming. The book centers on how churches can create spaces that welcome and affirm LGBTQIA+ community members, God’s beloved children. Each session will cover ideas from the book including how to talk to LGBTQIA+ persons, making sure spaces are safe and accessible, and how to work with LGBTQIA+ youth. This class is open to anyone who wishes to make our church a safer space for LGBTQIA+ adults and youth, especially those who are curious to learn more but are unsure of who to ask. The accompanying book is encouraged, but optional.
