Rev. Dr. Sergei Nikolaev, a graduate of the Perkins School of Theology at SMU, is president of the Moscow Theological Seminary of the Methodist Church of Russia. He is joining us at the Alternative Gifts Fair (AGF) to help celebrate reaching our goal of a $100,000 scholarship endowment and will be available to visit with people at the Marfa Ministry booth at AGF.
While he’s here, Sergei will give a presentation for anyone who would like to meet him and learn more about this ministry. Join us at 10am on November 8 in Room 108. He will talk about how the seminary works within government guidelines. Under his leadership, the seminary has reached its highest enrollment ever, and the government recently approved its ability to train students from other traditions, including Nazarene and Lutheran. He also has interesting stories to share about the seminary’s beginnings thirty years ago, when people in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church were instrumental in getting it started.
