Pub Theology

  • Miss Angeline's 125 East Oak Street Denton, TX, 76201 United States (map)

This is a casual, open-minded gathering for folks with big questions about God, faith, and life. We meet at a local bar for drinks, a mini presentation, and thoughtful conversation together. Each gathering explores a topic through history, the Bible, and the voices of theologians.

April’s topic: Eucontamination
Let’s talk about the concepts of Disgust Theology and Contamination-For-Good based on the book Eucontamination by Billie & Paul Hoard. Here’s a preview: “For too long, Christianity has been distorted by an overapplied purity-disgust metaphor: fueling exclusion, reinforcing fear, and enabling Christian Nationalism. Eucontamination challenges this toxic framework, arguing that Jesus did not retreat from impurity but transformed it.”

No church background required. No pressure to follow a specific religion or belief. All are welcome—bring your questions, your curiosity, and your whole self as we learn from each other.
