We are a group of friends from First United Methodist Church in Denton, TX who get together on Mondays and talk theology at The Bearded Monk, but during this time of isolation, we want to keep connected. Get together with Jenny Bates and Laura Byrd and talk theology whilst enjoying a drink! You can find us on facebook LIVE at 8 PM on Mosaic Worship or Open Worship!

Monday, February 15, we’ll get together online to discuss gender. What does it mean to gender God? What does gender mean in our understanding of spirituality and church roles? Does gender even matter or is it all societal construct?

We ask you to comment and be involved in the discussion and we will bring up your comments and talk about them. Not sure about commenting on a livestream? You can also message Laura or Jenny personally on Facebook! We may not have all the answers, but we will sure have alot of questions.

This group is here to ask theological questions. No one will call you heretical here! We would just expect you to make a good argument for anything you claim. We believe reason, experience, faith, and tradition are all important and shape our theology. There are no wrong answers, unless it revolves around the oppression of others. NO homophobia, sexism, ageism, ableism, or racism. Hate does not aid in the spreading of God's love. Do no harm, first.
