Heaven Shall Not Wait: A Service of Lessons and Carols
Heaven shall not wait for the poor to lose their patience,
the hungry lose their hunger, the privileged to share their portion…
This year’s Service of Lessons and Carols takes its theme from the stirring hymn by John L. Bell and Graham Maule, a declaration that God’s kingdom is not a distant dream but a present reality breaking into our world even now. Through scripture, carols, and choral music, we tell again the story of God’s love made flesh—born not into comfort or power, but into the fragile hope of ordinary lives.
Join us as we hear the ancient promises of prophets and angels, sing songs of expectation and joy, and proclaim that heaven shall not wait—for God is already at work among us, bringing justice, peace, and joy to a waiting world.
