Good Friday

  • First United Methodist Church of Denton 201 South Locust Street Denton, TX, 76201 United States (map)

Join us for a solemn Tenebrae Service of Good Friday. Tenebrae—meaning “darkness” or “shadows”—is a deeply reflective service that traces the events of Christ’s passion through scripture, prayer, and music. As the story unfolds, candles are gradually extinguished, symbolizing the growing shadows of betrayal, suffering, and death, and inviting us into quiet contemplation of Christ’s sacrifice.

As we remember the significance of Good Friday, this worship experience offers space for meditation, reverence, and prayer as we reflect on the meaning of the cross for our lives today. You can also join us on line on our church’s Youtube Channel. Childcare will be available for children birth-Kindergarten with RSVP to Pastor Sheryl.
