Behind the Ballot Box: Voter Education Event
Join us for an enlightening and non-partisan event hosted by the Church & Society Committee of FUMC Denton. Our Voter Education Event offers a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the election process, with an update on new laws impacting voter registration and voting processes at the precinct facilitated by the knowledgeable Christie A. Wood. Christie will be joined by Jane Scholz, a retired journalist and current Denton County activist for Voting Centers Now! Jane will share information on how to advocate for changing the law in Denton County enabling voters to vote at any precinct location on election day.
In 2015, Christie became active in Denton's political scene. She served on the City of Denton's Community Service Advisory Committee, worked as a Presiding Judge for elections, and contributed to recruiting election workers. Christie is passionate about election education and remains a mentor and advocate for non-partisan voter education.
