We invite you to gather for a heartfelt observance of All Saints Day. This sacred day, often overlooked in the liturgical year, serves as a poignant reminder of the faithful souls who have walked alongside us in our journey of faith, their legacies intertwining with our own. All Saints is an opportunity for us as a community to pause and remember those in our collective history—the thinkers, the dreamers, and the silent leaders—who continue to inspire us in myriad ways. Their stories remind us of the tradition of the church, a glorious tapestry enriched by each individual thread, each life well-lived.
On this day, through reflection, song, and shared testimony, we will celebrate the vast legacy that has shaped not only the United Methodist Church but also our individual hearts. Let us come together as we light candles in memory of those dear to us, symbolizing their light still guiding us despite their physical absence.
We will read the necrology— the naming those who have left us— during our morning worship services. In the evening, in the sanctuary, our choir will offer the ethereal sounds of Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem in a special service for All Saints. The evening service will also include the reading of the necrology. The choir will breathe life into this timeless composition offering a musical journey of solace and celebration.
Join us as we honor the precious memories of those we’ve lost—welcome the solace of music, and embrace the strength found in our shared remembrance. Together, we transcend sorrow and uplift one another, recognizing that all saints, seen and unseen, continue to shine their light upon us.
