Freeing Jesus: Jesus as Lord

This Sunday is Palm Sunday as our church gathers to worship and fellowship together at the beginning of Holy Week. We are continuing the series, “Freeing Jesus,” with Jesus as Lord. Some define “Lord” as an authority figure who demands obedience for fear of reprisal or judgment. This is something much different, even inconsistent with Jesus’ roles as Friend, Teacher, Savior, Way and Presence. Indeed, these roles help broaden our understanding of who he is as Lord and how Jesus Christ is at work in the world.
