Freeing Jesus: Jesus as Teacher

The mission of the United Methodist Church is both simple and profound: “To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” As disciples, we are called to learn, follow, and share the teachings of Jesus — love God, love neighbor, as we love ourselves. And we are called to follow Jesus for the purpose of transforming our world — loving God and our neighbor by making this world a better place for ourselves and for the generations who follow. This Sunday in worship, we look at Jesus as Teacher, and our role as disciples (from the Greek word for “student”), learning and seeking to live out those teachings in our lives.
