Reunion: Meeting Jesus Who Wants Us to be Healed
As spring turns into summer, we see signs of life and beauty all around us, from the blooming wildflowers, to summer activities, to the green trees with song birds singing. And as the heat rises, we also cherish the shade the trees provide! It is the same way in this life—we need both the beauty and wonder and a moment of refuge in the shade to restore our souls. This week, we look at how Jesus can bring healing and restoration in our lives. But he asks that simple but profound question: “Do you want to be healed?” We have a part to play in cooperating with God’s work in our world and lives in a way that brings healing. Sometimes, it is as simple as stopping beneath the shade tree for a while, other times it calls us deeper. But in it all, God is at work for our life, restoration, and good. This church is also a place of life and wonder and a place of refuge, restoration, and community. Last week in the sanctuary, we celebrated the wonder and life of graduating seniors. In Open and Mosaic this week, we will celebrate these graduates and college graduates as well. Our whole church celebrates their new steps of life!
