Life’s Big Questions: What’s the point?

Despite what you might have heard, for Jesus, questions aren’t a challenge to our faith — they are the channel by which our faith grows deeper and stronger. The word 'disciple' in Greek, mathetes, means 'student.' To be a student means to ask questions, seek answers, learn, and put our learning into practice. Jesus asked his followers questions that inspired new thoughts, challenged old assumptions, and brought to life a view of the God who invites us to love with our heart, soul, and mind.

For the next few weeks in our worship series, we will be exploring 'Life’s Big Questions,' reflecting on those questions of faith and life and discipleship that help us better understand 'How now shall we live?' If you have faith questions, you can share them at fumcdenton.com/questions. We will explore those questions together in worship and in an 'Ask the Pastor' class at 10 am on Sundays beginning in May.
