Good News of Liberation

Our relationships can often feel like useless fighting over who is “right” and who is “wrong,” and much less about mending the relationship that has been harmed. This week, in the story of Zacchaeus, we find a man who has wronged many for years, conveying to Jesus that he would restore those relationships, even within the corrupt system in which he was involved. We have a responsibility to ourselves, to our God, to our neighbor, and to all of creation to strive for restoration and reconciliation. Until we understand the Good News of salvation through restoration and work toward community that bridges and heals, we will not know true wholeness personally or within the many systems we participate in. Join me this Sunday to learn about the new beginning Jesus calls us to, which in turn causes liberation for all people.
