Gift Cards to Local Families for Spring Break Food!

Bob and Mary Harris and Chuck and Cynthia Rives delivered gift cards to 13 Denton ISD CISNT-affiliated schools. Here are photos taken at the schools, including Ginnings Elementary, Bettye Myers Middle, Borman Elementary, McMath Middle, Alexander Elementary, Denton High School, Rivera Elementary, Paloma Creek Elementary, Bell Elementary, Ryan High School, and Strickland Middle.

We delivered packets of gift cards for at least four families at each school, with family sizes ranging from 2 to 10. The families were chosen by CISNT school case managers as most likely to experience food insecurity over spring break, coming up next week. FUMC Denton collected $3,400 in cash and gift cards, all converted to Kroger or Walmart gift cards for distribution to the families, each receiving a minimum of $50 in gift cards. Coordination with the CISNT case managers was provided by Ryan Laupus, case manager at Rivera Elementary School.

Thanks for all your generosity that shines God’s love and hope to our Denton community and beyond!
