We Will Find a Way

What does it mean to be a prophet? A prophet takes our most cherished traditions that normalize injustice and oppression and "cracks it like an egg." The only way we can wake up from this long nap is when prophetic witness comes along and says- you must do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with this God of justice. (Micha 6:8) Prophets have been calling us for centuries to bend the arc more and more towards justice as people of faith. The question is will we answer the call to do God's work?

This is a piece Laura put together for her Old Testament class in prophecy combining spoken word and video with a song written by Vaughn, Lizzy, and Laura Byrd with the help of friends in the Mosaic Worship band during quarantine. The assignment was created as an anonymous Jewish person speaking during the events of the holocaust yet the words still ring true today.
