Friendship Soup

During this season of Lent, we centered ourselves on Being Love—How to be the Church (Everywhere we are). Inspired by this, a group from the New Horizons’ Sunday School class launched a project (loosely based on the Stone Soup story) to provide a simple meal to those we have missed seeing this past pandemic year. This week, they volunteered to prepare soup, bake cornbread and cookies, create tote labels and inserts, and prepare the meals for delivery to about 100 homes. Pastor Don blessed the meals that were delivered to approximately 106 homes receiving soup! They delivered 142 jars of soup along with more cookies and cornbread than could be counted. We are thankful that through it all, this community continues to be love, to shine God's love into every life, and to care for each other.
