Fake or Fact

Dr. Lauren Santaro leads a special event in our sanctuary.

One thing United Methodists are known for is the ways in which we love to think. We love to be challenged and think critically. Whether it’s how we read scripture or engage with current topics, we don’t or least try not to accept things blindly.
These past few months, our Church and Society committee has done tremendous work in bringing us wonderful speakers that challange us and teach us.

On October 7th, we had Dr. Lauren Santaro invite us to look at how we consume information, our personal bias, and how we can spot a fake source. It was an informative issue that challenged us to look at who we are listening to and how we consume information. She also reminded us how we can talk to one another when we disagree. We were thankful for such a thoughtful discussion and the work it gave us to do!

We hope this will help us inform us all as we head into this election!
