Eggs-traordinary! A Recap of Sunday's Eggstravaganza

We had the most fantastic Easter Eggstravaganza on Sunday afternoon! Hundreds of guests from our community, along with many of our FUMC Denton families, came and enjoyed a perfect afternoon.

Thanks to all of you for donating nearly 7,000 Easter eggs, which was 2,200 past our goal of 4,800 eggs! There were over 25 students from our youth group helping on Sunday to make snow cones, serve popcorn, paint faces, facilitate games, and most importantly, guide our special Easter bunnies around for pictures. 22 adults, who registered on the sign-up genius, plus another 15 who wanted to participate, volunteered to help set up, decorate, hide eggs, facilitate games and clean up.

Our event ended at 5:30 pm and we were cleaned up within 30 minutes! We had over 135 families who registered for the four different door prize drawings. The door prizes were a hit with squish-mellows, peeps candies, puzzles, stickers and bunny ears. The winners for the prizes were so thrilled to hear their name called. It was so much fun!

Before the event began, one of our fifth graders came with her aunt who was helping to decorate and set up. The sweet girl jumped right in and helped too. As time drew closer, and people began arriving, she couldn’t contain her joy. She looked at me with huge eyes and said, “Sheryl, aren’t you so excited? This is so exciting—I can’t wait!” So, thank you all, for helping to make our Easter Eggstravaganza the most amazing day for people of all ages!

I am grateful for a church community who invests in our families and finds joy in reaching out to our neighbors too! Way to go, FUMC Denton!

Easter Blessings,

Sheryl
