Honoring Rev. David Finley & Ministry Transition Update

Dear Church Family,

We hope this message finds you well. Today, we want to share our deep gratitude for Rev. David Finley and his faithful leadership at FUMC Denton. Since 2019, Pastor David has served our congregation with dedication, wisdom, and care, guiding both our Youth and Adult Discipleship ministries in ways that have profoundly shaped our church family.

After thoughtful conversations among David, Raegan, Scott, and the Staff-Parish Relations Committee, we have all agreed that a leadership transition would be best for the future of our Youth and Adult Discipleship ministries. David’s last Sunday with us will be April 27, and we invite you to join us in celebrating his ministry and expressing our heartfelt thanks.

As we prepare for this transition, we remain deeply committed to nurturing and strengthening our Youth and Adult Discipleship ministries. Raegan and Scott will be working closely with our students, parents, and volunteers to ensure a smooth and intentional path forward. We will share more details soon and invite your input as we shape the next chapter of these ministries together, grounded in the collaborative leadership that will continue to guide us into the future.

Above all, we are grateful. Grateful for David’s leadership, for the relationships he has built, and for the many ways he has shared God’s love with us. As he steps into his next chapter of ministry, we send him with our full support and confidence in his giftedness, integrity, and call to transform the world in God’s love through service and teaching.

Please join us on April 27 at 12:15 pm in Miller Center as we celebrate David’s years of service and offer our blessings for his future. We encourage you to take this opportunity to share your appreciation and well wishes with him.

With love and compassion,
Pastors Raegan and Scott
Happy Carrico, Chair of the SPRC
