Announcing Sherry Miears’ Retirement

Dear Church Family,

Please join us in celebrating our Finance Assistant, Sherry Miears, as she transitions to a much-deserved retirement and relocates to Austin, TX. Sherry has been an essential part of the our FUMC Denton staff since 2001, starting as the Food Service Manager for five years and then moving into the Finance Assistant role.

She has faithfully served this church for over 22 years, and we are so thankful for her presence in our faith community. Sherry is moving to be closer to her grandchildren and is so excited to be with her family. When asked if she had anything she wanted to share with the church, she said “I have loved being in this downtown church and I will miss it very much. I hope that you will all carry on with faith in this church’s leadership for another 100 years.” Sherry’s last day at FUMC Denton will be July 27.

At Sherry’s request, we won’t be holding a reception for her as she prefers to stay out of the spotlight. In lieu of a reception, we’ll have notecards available in Miller Center on Sunday, July 23 for you to express your thanks and congratulations to Sherry in note-form!
