The Longest Night

  • First United Methodist Church of Denton 201 South Locust Street Denton, TX, 76201 United States (map)

The holiday season isn’t always easy. Some may be dealing with the loss of a loved one, facing life after a major change, and a number of other circumstances that make this a painful and difficult season to navigate—not to mention our shared isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic. This service will create sacred space for those of us living through dark times—a reflective, quiet time for anyone experiencing grief or uncertainty—seeking together to accept where we really are and hold a space for healing and hope.

We will gather outside on the church lawn behind the education building (near the playground, visible from the Sycamore side and back parking lot). Bring your own lawn chair, blanket, or sturdy legs, and let us worship together. Make sure to wear your mask and dress warm if the weather is cold.
