Justice Begins With Us: Organizing in the Church for Social Change

  • First United Methodist Church of Denton 201 South Locust Street Denton, TX, 76201 United States (map)

Join us for an inspiring and educational event, "Justice Begins With Us: Organizing in the Church for Social Change," presented by the North Texas Conference Board of Church & Society in partnership with FUMC Denton. This event promises to be a transformative experience where we delve into the realm of Church & Society and explore its profound impact on social change.

Our educational program, featuring a panel of speakers, will shed light on the origins and significance of Church & Society within the United Methodist Church, drawing from its deep roots in Wesleyan theology. By delving into its history and sharing what is happening today, we aim to empower churches to embrace their role as catalysts for positive change in their communities.

We are especially thrilled to welcome Bishop Ruben Saenz Jr. as a featured speaker at this event. Bishop Saenz is looking forward to sharing his thoughts on the importance of the board of Church and Society, the role it plays as the moral voice for the denomination and our conference, as well as the theological relevance of Church and Society’s role.

To facilitate focused discussions and encourage collaboration, we will offer breakout sessions to foster engagement, allowing participants to share their perspectives, exchange ideas, and forge meaningful connections.

The event will commence with a complementary dinner for registered attendees and their families, and childcare will be available to ensure that parents can fully participate in the event without any concerns.

We will be live-streaming the event so that everyone can participate regardless of their location.
