Christmas Offering

  • First United Methodist Church of Denton 201 South Locust Street Denton, TX, 76201 United States (map)

The Missions Committee has chosen Lenten ReBuild in partnership with Hearts for Homes and Iglesia Metodista Tiempos de Gloria to receive this year’s annual Christmas Offering. All donations recieved will be divided equally.

Every year during the season of Lent, FUMC Denton strives to serve our community through an annual project called Lenten Rebuild. We find folks in our community in need of home repair through Hearts for Homes, a local ministry that provides home repairs for low-income seniors. Your donations will help cover the cost of the materials used to repair these homes. Our Lenten Rebuild will be during the 2023 season of Lent (February 22-April 6) on Saturdays, weather permitting. Most projects not do require specialized skills and typically include everything from light carpentry, replacing home siding, scrapping and painting, to yard clean up and light landscaping. In other words, something for everybody—and we hope you’ll join us then as a volunteer!

Iglesia Metodista Tiempos de Gloria is Pastor Mauricio's former church in Costa Rica that is desperately needing renovations after flooding from a hurricane. They need to fix some Sunday School clases, the kitchen, and the parsonage. Repairs with labor costs will cost the church $13,000 and they offer thanks for any contribution the Christmas Offering will bring!

Donations can be made online at FUMC Denton by selecting “Christmas Offering” in the drop-down menu or checks can be mailed to the church with “Christmas Offering” in the memo line.

The offerings collected at our Christmas Eve services will go toward these ministries. Thank you for your gifts that make a difference in our community!
