Everyone has seen it; everyone has heard it. That person on a street corner with a megaphone, shouting select Bible verses, using God’s name to call people to repentance or face eternal damnation. For stout believers, they’re easy to tune out, but yet it is still effective to the secular person, the one who doesn’t know God.

Of course, they can use google, and ask if God really said that, and they find their answer within seconds using their smartphone. There it is, Deuteronomy 30:18, “I declare to you today that you shall perish; you shall not live long in the
land that you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.” Does that sound like Christian love?
