Freeing Jesus: Jesus as Hope | Easter
Jesus’ journey from Palm Sunday to Easter morning was unimaginably difficult. But the darkness of Good Friday gave way to the bright hope of Easter, and gave hope to all of us, no matter where we are on life’s journey.
We may not face exactly what Jesus faced, but in this life there are tough seasons, social injustices, and unimaginably difficult circumstances we must face. Nevertheless, the message of Easter is that even in the midst of dark valleys, there is Easter’s bright hope in the power of the God who declares “Behold, I am making all things new.” God’s love and life still hold the power to roll away stones no one ever thought could be moved and bring forth new life where it seemed impossible. Easter is bright hope for us all.
We all could use a reminder and an experience of that hope. This Sunday, in all our services, we’ll reflect on and claim together the hope of Jesus’ life and God’s love we encounter on Easter. Then join together in worship on Easter Sunday for any of our Easter services.
