Cultivating Goodness

This Sunday is Confirmation Sunday as we celebrate with eight of our confirmands as they are confirmed as full members of FUMC Denton. A ninth confirmand is being confirmed in a separate service. Our Confirmation class and its leaders have worked hard over the last year or so, studying about the Christian faith and United Methodism. These nine are remarkable young men and women who love Jesus Christ and his church and who are responding to the call to be Jesus’ hands and feet in the world. We are so proud to have them formalize their commitment to FUMC Denton.

This Sunday, we will also continue the sermon series “Cultivating Goodness” as we learn we have a role as “seed sowers” in God’s work of cultivating goodness in the world. Sowing is about “investing” in the future of God’s kingdom to come, so generously sow trusting God for the results!

We ask all who consider FUMC-Denton their church home, to prayerfully complete an Estimate of Giving card and mail it to the church office, formalizing your commitment to cultivate God’s goodness through your life and this church. Invest in the ministry of your church for, as Peter Drucker has put it, “The future has already started.”
