Let There Be Light: Hope Ignites a Fire Within

The greatest hope of Advent is found in that word “Emmanuel,” God-With-Us. How is God with us? The story of Jesus is not one of castles or cathedrals, but of humble incarnation — “skeneo: a tent” is the word John uses to describe Jesus’ dwelling with us. Right here in the rain and the mud and the bug, the sunrises and sunsets and the meals together — God is with us in all of it. And that is the hope that brings light to life.
