Let There Be Light: Hope Shines in Unexpected Places

Amidst Empire and the sweep of history, Mary was an unexpected central character in God’s liberation story. But her hope, her faith, her courage, and her willingness to play her part were the very responses God used to turn the world upside-down right-side up. For us today, it may feel like we are being swept along, but Advent reminds us of the great light of hope: that God is moving in real life. And our hope, our faith, our courage, and our willingness to play our part are the very things God uses to change the world.
