Inspired: Out of the Boat

We think of inspiration as something that is “out there,” something that we can’t control, something that acts on its own timetable, something that we have to hope is going to find us. It also means “to breathe in.” Genesis 2 tells us God breathed the breath of life into Adam, bringing him to life. We have within us the breath of God, the spirit of God, a source of inspiration within us. Sunday’s sermon is about Peter’s reaction to seeing Jesus walk on water. Jesus didn’t ask Peter to walk out to him - that came from Peter. That breath of God within Peter inspired him to get out of the boat. What is there within you? How can we help you to get out of the boat?
