Road Trip Playlist: Psalm 23

Most of us are fortunate to have had someone in our life who has cared for us, nurtured us, and even protected us from harm. The imagery Psalm 23 uses for this is of a shepherd and sheep. But the Psalm writer, believed to be King David, describes God in similar caregiving terms, “The Lord is my shepherd.” As we continue in the worship series, “Road Trip Playlist: Psalms for the Whole Journey,” we meet a God who not only walks with us on our whole journey but who enters into our everyday reality to love, care for and defend us from evil. What does God want for us? Psalm 23 reveals a God who seeks to lead, tend, and nourishes us, so that we all know God’s goodness and mercy all lifelong.
